Our STORY

Avyn Craig was known for his character, his heart, and the way he made people feel. He had a natural ability to bring people together, show up for others, and leave a lasting impact wherever he went. His life was not defined only by what he accomplished, but by the kindness, loyalty, and compassion he shared with the people around him.

When Avyn passed away on May 21, 2021, the loss was immeasurable. His family, friends, and community were left grieving someone whose presence had meant so much to so many. Nearly 600 people attended his service, a reflection of the number of lives he touched and the legacy he left behind.

The Avyn Craig Memorial Foundation was created to ensure that his story did not end there.

Why the Foundation Exists

The foundation exists to carry Avyn’s character forward by recognizing students who lead with kindness, perseverance, integrity, and compassion. Through scholarships, essential resources, community service, and grief support, we work to remove barriers and create opportunities for young people and families.

What began as a way to honor Avyn has grown into a larger commitment to serve others. Each scholarship awarded, each pair of shoes donated, and each family supported represents another step in continuing the impact he made during his life.

His legacy reminds us that even through unimaginable loss, we can continue moving forward with purpose.

The Avyn Craig Memorial Foundation was officially established in February 2022 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Since its founding, The ACMF has awarded annual character-based scholarships, provided shoes and essential resources to students in need, and brought people together to serve their communities.

As the foundation grows, its purpose remains the same: to create opportunities, support students and families, and ensure that Avyn’s legacy continues to make a difference.
